2026-27 School Year Enrollment Opens May 1st
“Learning is not the product of teaching. Learning is the product of the activity of learners.” – John Holt
At Village Academy Learning Center, we are dedicated, experienced, home-educating parents facilitating programming that brings eager students and passionate teachers together. We know a format that supports socializing, age-appropriate development, and exploration can contribute to the success of homeschooling families.
Village Academy Learning Center LLC is not a school; it's simply a location where minds meet, questions are asked, and answers are discovered.
Village Academy Co-Founders
Kristeen and Adele both came to the world of homeschooling almost two decades ago. Following the values of their families and the needs of their children, they have taught their children at home, sent their children to classes for homeschoolers, taught classes, tutored, and brought life to Village Academy.
All students who attend are registered as home-educated students and their education falls completely under the oversight of their legal guardians. Whether you are a returning homeschooling family or you are new to this educational choice, it is important to know the law.
For Massachusetts families it is incredibly important to be aware of the case law. Please familiarize yourself with both the Charles and the Brunelle decisions. An educational plan must be submitted to your district annually and each district may ask for evidence of progress annually, guardians can choose to submit a progress report, work samples, or testing results. Massachusetts has a number of advocates working hard to help families. Please reach out if you have questions.
In Rhode Island, homeschooling requires annual approval from your local school district. Families must submit an annual Letter of Intent. This letter states that you will teach required subjects and provide instruction that is “thorough and efficient.” At the end of each school year you will provide an End of Year report which states you have followed the law and your child is progressing.
